Sail Academy: An Unforgettable Journey

Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships.

The beginning of summer 2014, I've decided to go to NJROTC Sail Academy. I was a bit hesitant about my decision in going, but after the experience I can honestly say that it really was an unforgettable journey. Sail Academy was a three day camp and honestly it was amazing. Given the fact that I didn't want to go in the first place made me hate the very first day. I had no friends and the instructors were down right scary. After an hour or two though I've managed to make some friends of course. I had no choice. The people up there in that picture are my dearest friends at camp. We sweat blood and tears all three darn days together. We looked out for each other and we enjoyed sailing together. We worked hard and it was worth it. We came into second place in the race and it was amazeballs! It was all about teamwork and I honestly enjoyed it.
After the graduation ceremony it didn't really dawn upon me that I would probably never see these people ever again. I just thought "oh well, it was a three day thing, no need to fear." But now that I look back at it, I'm wrong. I do miss these people. I miss sailing in the waters. I miss tugging on the jib sheet. I miss walking/running to eat chao (food @navalbase). Although there are a lot of things I don't think I'm going to miss, I will still miss Sail Academy as a whole. I will miss the abundant of times that I yearned for home and my parents. I've come out of this camp as a whole new leader. I've learned how to cooperate with others and when we are on the boat there are no such things as friends and relationships. We yell at each other to make each other better. Hahaha, it may seem harsh but honestly the thought of 2nd place made all the difference. Teamwork is so vital that sometimes people forget that it actually works. I've learned that we all depend on each other. Not one person can do the entire job, and well with team mates everything is just 100% much better!
Well that's a little snippet into my life, since I haven't posted in so so long. >_< Sorry!
I need to update y'all about my life ever since two summers ago!

Toodles for now~
